Sri Mahalakshmi

Sri Mahalakshmi is the bestower of all benefits. She is the giver of prosperity, splendour and glory. She also symbolizes auspiciousness.

But wealth does not connote mere material well being, which is temporary and temporal. Real wealth is divine wealth. It is knowledge and wisdom, which the Gita describes as a means to moksha . Being fearless is also another form of wealth. This comes only by prayer to Mother. Purity of mind is another form of wealth. This comes only by prayer to Mother. Even today a devotee is permitted to enter the inner chamber of her dwelling at Kolhapur . A few minutes in her presence, while chanting Sri Sukta , brings immense peace to many devotees. They attribute this transformation to the benign blessings of Sri Mahalakshmi.
